PET (also abbreviated as PETE) is an abbreviation for polyethylene terephthalate and is the chemical name for polyester. PET is a transparent, strong, lightweight plastic that is widely used to package foods and beverages, especially for convenient size soft drinks, juices and water. Almost all single and 2 liter bottled carbonated soft drinks and water sold in the United States are made from Pet Bottle Preform. It is also popular for packaging salad dressings, peanut butter, cooking oils, mouthwashes, shampoos, hand sanitizers, window cleaners, and even tennis balls. Special grades of PET are used to carry the food container home and the prepared food tray, which can be heated in an oven or microwave oven. The basic building blocks of PET are ethylene glycol and terephthalic acid, which combine to form a polymer chain. The obtained spaghetti-like PET fibers were extruded, rapidly cooled, and cut into small particles. The resin pellets are then heated to a molten liquid which can be easily extruded or molded into articles of virtually any shape. Due to the unique nature of PET, it is rapidly becoming the preferred packaging material for food and beverages in the world. Like glass, it is a very strong inert material that does not react with food, resists microbial attack, and does not biodegrade. But unlike glass, PET is very lightweight, easy to transport, efficient, and not fragile. Do you have a need for this? Welcome to contact us. We are experts in this field.
