Pigments, masterbatches and pre-coloring are three common methods of color matching in the injection molding field. What is the difference between these three methods? How to choose the most suitable for your ongoing molding project? Jilian Plastics has been focusing on China Pet Bottle injection molding for many years, let us share our views and experience here. Rapid injection molding, resin coloring Pigment: A colorant in a powder that is blended into the raw material to determine the specified color. This is the quickest and most economical way to color match. Pigments can be prepared in a few days, however, the challenge is that the colors may not be consistent across batches. Masterbatch: A colorant in a grain that is mixed into the raw material to achieve the specified color. Masterbatches are more consistent and easier to handle than pigments, but for cost reasons, this method is primarily used for medium-scale production (if one ton or more of resin is required, the masterbatch will be considered). A masterbatch can be prepared in 8 days. Pre-coloring: The raw material has been colored and it is always suitable for mass production. Since the minimum order quantity requires at least three tons, Jilian Plastic Mould is a professional Pet Preform Mould manufacturing company. We provide reliable injection molding services and help many customers from all over the world to successfully and quickly bring products to market.
