Extrusion blow molding For this process, the plastic is melted and then the blank is extruded. The parison is then closed and the air is blown into the desired shape while it is still hot. Then, once the workpiece is completely cooled, the plastic is ejected. Extrusion blow molding has two parts: continuous and intermittent. Continuous means that the parison is continuously extruded, and each piece of plastic is cut by a knife. Intermittent means that there is a stopping point between each mold. Extrusion blow molding is usually chosen because of its fast production speed and ability to produce complex parts. Injection blow molding Injection blow molding involves injecting a plastic or polymer into a core pin and then rotating the core pin through a blow molding machine until the plastic expands into the desired shape. Then cool and squirt in a simple process. However, since this is a relatively slow process, injection blow molding is the least used of the three blow molding techniques. Stretch blow molding This process is a bit more complicated than other processes. It uses a small plastic resin that is stretched vertically and then stretched horizontally to give the molecule a cross shape. Molecular hybridization produces higher quality plastics by increasing the barrier strength and preventing stomata. Since blow molding machines limit the design of certain bottles, this option is often chosen for small batch orders. Blow molding does not have to be a complicated process.
